Many events take place throughout the year in the Cote d’azur region and Nice. Amongst others:February - March: Nice Carnival http://www.nicecarnaval.com/
One of the most important demonstrations on the Riviera without a doubt is the carnival which will take place February 16th to March 2nd 2008 for the 124th time.
This year, the Carnival of Nice will be "a King of Ratapignatas, Raminogrobis and other bunches of masked Rats". The theme complementing the arrival of the Chinese year of the Rat. You will be able to admire the pitoresques battles of flowers or the parade, opening of the Carnival with the arrival of the King to discover the local products.

The famous Masters series tennis tournament of Monte Carlo takes place from April 19th to 27th 2008. Every year many international players are present to offer high quality tennis matches to the amateurs.
May - Monaco Grand Prix http://www.grand-prix-monaco.com/
Every year motorsport amateurs come in their numbers to assit with the F1 Monte Carlo Grand Prix. The famous circut runs through the main town, which guarantees spectators sensational moments.
Not to be forgotten for the amateurs: the 6th historic grand prix of Monte Carlo takes place the 10th and 11th May 2008.

The famous film festival of Cannes will also be held in May (from the 14th to 25th May 2008), transforming the famous Croisette in procession of film stars. For the amateurs, it is an unmissable event which transforms the town of Cannes into a true place of festival.
