For more than 10 years, the school has welcomed teenagers all year round. They are mainly from Italy, Russia, the USA, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and New Zealand. We offer these young people the opportunity to have a direct contact with France and the French. We provide the essential active and dynamic techniques for the young students to build on their knowledge of French. We always select our best teachers to offer these students a quality French course.
Residential summer programme for teenagers aged 12 to 17
French lessons
This programme is aimed at students who have studied the language for at least a year. It must be noted that complete beginners are not accepted and that students should be aged between 12 and 17.
The classes will make small groups of 15 students maximum at an equal level of French and are based on active practical work and role-play ensuring that the student gets plenty of practice in real French life as well as having fun! The International House teachers specialise in teaching French to young foreigners and every student is encouraged to participate in class as much as possible
Lessons begin at 9 am and end at 12.15, Monday to Friday, except on bank holidays.
At the end of their stay, each participant will receive a certificate indicating their oral and written level in French, according to the standards set by the European Council. In keeping with the reputation of International House, we make every effort to ensure that our students receive lessons of high quality, adapted to suit their needs.
The Residence
This year two residences will be used. One in Nice for 5 weeks and one in Cap d’Antibes for the 2nd week.
The Nice residence is located in the middle of a residential area and is surrounded by a park. It is on the Cimiez hill, in Nice, five minutes from the old Roman Arenas, and a 15 minute bus ride from the Baies des Anges and the beach. It is in beautiful surroundings and has its own large swimming pool
The Cap d'Antibes residence is 5 minutes from Juan les Pins in an enchanting seaside environment between private beaches. A magnificent house with a beautiful garden along the Mediterranean sea. It boasts wonderful surroundings and excellent facilities.
Accommodation
Students are accommodated in spacious bedrooms that sleep six. The shower and bathroom facilities are located on each floor, as well as a common room. There are two single rooms on every floor for the supervisor and trip organiser. Please note that bed linen is provided but do bring your own towels.
Meals
The cafeteria provides three nutritious self-service hot meals a day with a range of foods offered and prepared to a high standard. At the weekends a cold lunch is prepared for excursions.
Activities
Activities are organised every afternoon and evening. You will participate in activities such as the following :
- Team sports (football, basketball, volleyball etc)
- Watersports (parachute, kayak, pedalo, swimming)
- Cultural activities (visits to museums such as the Matisse, Chagall, and Picasso art galeries, and the Museum of Modern Art)
- Excursions (Monaco, Antibes, the Alps, Cannes)
- Outdoor activities in the countryside (adventure park, aqua splash)
Every evening after dinner, activities such as the following will be organised :
- Welcome Party
- Themed Party (Music, games, theatre)
- Beach Party
- Film
- Farewell Disco
All supervisors have obtained a diploma recognised by the Ministère Français de la Jeunesse et des Sports, ensuring their capability to care for young people during activities. Furthermore, some of these supervisors will live at the residence with the teenagers, providing a safe and secure environment 24/7.
Welfare
All students are met at Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport on arrival by International House staff who will then accompany them safely to the residence. The activity leaders reside at the school and are actively involved in the 24hr care of the students. All staff members involved have been authorised to work with juniors in accordance with French Government legislation.

During your stay, you will have every opportunity to speak French, the common language between you and your classmates. You will learn to live with respect for your friends, regardless of their nationality or their social and religious differences. You will come to appreciate and enjoy the cultural and linguistic diversity amongst your fellow students. You will contribute to the beginnings of a more humane society in a United Europe, creating a more tolerant and compassionate world.

Enrolment procedure
Please enrol :
- on the internet and by making a secure payment
- on the internet and paying by cheque payable in France or by SWIFT transfer
- by fax and paying by cheque payable in France or by SWIFT transfer
The deposit is 745 € minimum. The enrolment is only considered valid when we have received the deposit and this will be deducted from the total amount, or you can pay the total amount at once. An invoice will then be sent to you to confirm the enrolment.
NB : the total amount will have to be paid 4 weeks before the start of the programme. No late payments will be accepted.
